The concept of the human library definitely aligns with how I view the world around me.
For me, every individual is a book on legs with a life story.
Each one of us is a hidden treasure waiting to be discovered.
Sadly, modern society and particularly, the mobile phone has robbed us of countless opportunities to connect to strangers…daily random encounters have become scarce.
We avoid eye contact and get uncomfortable when a stranger smiles at us. These random exchanges with strangers are, at least for me, the ultimate beauty of life.
They allow us to modulate and/or complete our puzzle of life, our world vision by exchanging pages from our respective books and thus allowing us to grow efficiently.
On the 27th March, next to many other living books, I will be presenting myself as a book entitled:
‘Happiness after hell – Kintsugi, the art of golden repair’
‘Suffering is very subjective. My hell may not be your hell and yet, it may cause you to experience an equal level of distress’ proclaims Dr. Mary Faltz.
Walking us through her turbulent life path, she highlights the magic of resilience, self-discovery, kindness, and gratitude. Regardless of the adversity, this powerful book will encourage you to explore happiness after hell in a different light.
Mary is a survivor of child sexual abuse and has recently survived a rare and aggressive cancer. Facing her own mortality, she felt pushed to speak up and have a voice that was going to be heard – loud and clearly. A voice for all those who can’t.
