This is not war.

This is genocide.

Around 20000 children killed, and we, with our collective global conscience, not only silently watched but actively financed it.

20000 children = 2 x Stade de Luxembourg filled with children at maximum capacity.

20000 children = approx. every 5th child in Luxembourg.

20000 children = approx. the entire population of Dudelange – not to forget the other 40000+ innocent deaths.

I look back at what I wrote in 2023, when I was horrified beyond words by the images and the killing of innocent people on both sides.

Two years later, the devastation is no longer ‘on both sides’.

It has become one-sided, a genocide unfolding before our eyes.

Around 20000 children DEAD and behind that number are countless others who are scarred for life, orphaned, displaced, robbed of their future and their innocence.

How can generations to come not carry hatred in their hearts when the world has not only silently watched, but actively enabled this?

Billions of dollars have been poured into killing innocent people.

Our empathy is very selective depending on where someone is born, what language they speak, or what they believe.

Human life is still not valued equally.

Where are we heading? How have we become so numb, so blind to suffering, so quick to look away when the victims do not look like ‘us’?

This is beyond shameful, a moral collapse on a global scale. I feel guilty for being a human being.

If 20000 murdered children do not trigger us, then what is left of our humanity at all?
